Germany to transfer 2 Patriot systems to Ukraine

Germany will transfer two Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine in several stages. This was reported by the Bundeswehr press service.

In the first stage, in the coming days, Ukraine will receive additional launchers.

"In the second stage, over the next two to three months, Germany will transfer other components of the system to strengthen Ukraine's air defense with additional Patriot batteries," the report says.

At the same time, an agreement has been reached with the US Department of Defense that Germany will be the first to receive new, latest-generation Patriot systems in an accelerated manner. Berlin will provide financing.

It is noted that highly effective air defense systems such as Patriot are rare, and the production of individual components can take years. Germany has already transferred three such systems to Ukraine.

Recall that earlier, Germany and the US agreed to transfer five Patriot systems to Ukraine "as soon as possible."

On July 4, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine would receive 17 Patriot air defense systems.
