US President Donald Trump reacted to the shelling of the city of Kyiv by the aggressor state of russia last night, calling it disgusting and very sad.
He said this during a briefing at the White House.
When asked about the russian attack on Kyiv on the night of July 31, Trump said it was disgusting: "russia? I think what they are doing is disgusting. I think what russia is doing is very sad."
The American President recalled the agreement under which NATO finances the weapons provided to the United States.
"We don't pay anything for this war. But I'll tell you this: it has to be stopped, it's a disgrace. They're losing 7,000. It used to be 5,000. Now they're losing 7,000 a week. Ukrainian and russian soldiers. They're also losing people in the cities because putin is shelling them with missiles. No, I think it's a disgrace," Trump stressed.
The US President also repeated his words about the uncertainty of how putin will react to the sanctions.
"I don't know if it will have any effect. But we will. Europe is very upset, but this is a war that should never have happened," he said.
Recall that the death toll from the russian strike on Kyiv on the night of July 31 has risen to 27, including 3 children.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Trump meanwhile announced that US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is planning a visit to the aggressor state of russia.
