The Cabinet of Ministers allowed manufacturers of drones and electronic warfare (EW) to include loan costs in the price of state contracts up to 10% of the cost. This was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"More Ukrainian weapons. Last week, we met with banks to strengthen the financing of our defense industry. The first results are already available. Today, the Government, at the request of the Defense Ministry, allowed drone and electronic warfare manufacturers to include interest on loans in the cost of production. At the same time, a reasonable limit has been set. Loan costs are no more than 10% of the cost," he said.
Shmyhal noted that this new financial mechanism will allow Ukrainian manufacturers to create more weapons and technologies, faster, and more efficiently.
"We are scaling our defense industry. We are attracting more resources. The result is millions of Ukrainian drones for the front. We are building a force that will stop the aggressor and ensure long-term peace," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy set a task for manufacturers to ensure Ukraine's ability to use 1,000 interceptor drones per day.
In July, the Cabinet of Ministers also allowed an increase in the order price by 20% in concluded state contracts for the purchase of unmanned systems and electronic warfare equipment, while the manufacturer's profit should not exceed 25%.
