Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that in the coming weeks, international partners should achieve maximum synchronization of sanctions against russia in order to increase pressure on the military economy of the aggressor state. He wrote about this on X.
"Putin rejects a ceasefire, avoids a meeting of leaders and prolongs the war. He will end his terror only when we break the backbone of his economy, which already has systemic problems, and also deprive his military budget of funding. The United States, Europe and the G7 have the necessary strength to achieve this goal. Maximum synchronization of sanctions is critically important. Now we see momentum. It is time to consolidate a single and strong sanction fist and strike with full force at Russia's military budget," he wrote.
Sybiha also recalled that russian officials boast about "fighting against the entire West" in order to explain to their citizens the failures on the front. At the same time, in his opinion, the russian federation should feel the real power of the consolidated West through maximum sanctions pressure.
According to him, Ukraine is already actively coordinating its restrictions with its allies. Only in recent weeks has Kyiv synchronized the previous EU sanctions packages and is working to eliminate loopholes and block russia's access to technologies.
"In the coming weeks, there should be maximum synchronization of sanctions by all partners against Russia in order to increase the cost of war for the aggressor. We are actively working with partners to achieve this goal," the Minister added.
Recall, Trump set a new deadline for russia of 10-12 days to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine.
