Pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine very quickly learned to fly French Mirage 2000 fighters. The head of the communications department of the Air Forces Command Yurii Ihnat stated this on the air of Espreso.
According to him, Mirage paired with F-16 is a fairly good interceptor aircraft, which works well in the sky against both missiles and Shaheds.
"Our pilots quickly, very quickly mastered the Mirage, just like the F-16 pilots. And every night, in fact, when there is a massive attack with Russian cruise missiles and Shaheds in a particular area, by decision of the military leadership, it is the Western-style Mirage and F-16 fighters that take part. They are not very new, they are such older modifications. But what we could get, we use as effectively as possible, when both weather conditions and the situation allow," Ihnat concluded.
Recall that the French Mirage 2000 fighters arrived in Ukraine in February 2025.
