Russia launches missile strike on Cherkasy at night, fires break out in city, there are casualties – Regional Military Administration

On the night of Thursday, July 24, the russian occupation army launched a missile strike on Cherkasy, several fires broke out in the city, seven people were injured, including one child.

The head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"A missile attack on the regional center. We have several fires in the city. All services are working. According to preliminary data, six people were injured," Taburets wrote at six in the morning.

Later, he reported that seven people were injured, including a 9-year-old child.

Falling debris was recorded in several locations in the city.

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, rescuers quickly extinguished all fires.

"However, there is significant damage to the residential infrastructure: at least a dozen and a half apartment buildings. There are broken windows, damaged roofs. Educational and healthcare institutions, forestry, the city cemetery, garages, cars - the Russians have caused enough trouble in the regional center," he said.

Currently, the examination of the territory is ongoing.

Social partners from the regional Red Cross are providing assistance to the population.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the morning of July 17, the russians attacked the Kaniv community of the Cherkasy Region, causing a fire, one person was injured.

As a result of the russian strike, part of Sumy was left without electricity, and the infrastructure was damaged.

On the evening of July 22, the russian occupiers attacked the market in the Kupyansk district of the Kharkiv Region with drones, causing a fire. The shelling also damaged the post office building and other commercial facilities.

Earlier, the Air Forces stated that on the night of July 21, Kyiv suffered one of the most severe massive missile and Shahed attacks, with more than 15 direct hits on objects in the capital recorded.
