Rada went on "break" for almost month after adopting law on NABU and SAPO - Zhelezniak

The Verkhovna Rada went on a "vacation" for 4 weeks. This was stated by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos) in his Telegram channel.

"Don't be fooled by the story "we'll fix it in two weeks" regarding NABU and SAPO... For your understanding: the Rada, after destroying the anti-corruption legislation, has now gone on a "break"... for 4 weeks, until the 20th of August," he wrote.

Zhelezniak believes that after the "vacation" in the Verkhovna Rada "they will pretend that the topic is no longer so relevant."

Recall that on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 12414, which subordinates anti-corruption bodies to the Prosecutor General, in particular, gives him access to all NABU cases and the authority to independently sign suspicions against all top officials.

NABU and SAPO asked Zelenskyy to veto the bill, but the President signed the law the same day. It came into force on July 23.

On July 22, protests took place in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa and Lviv.

In a nighttime video address, Zelenskyy explained his actions by the need to rid anti-corruption agencies of "russian influences."

On July 23, Zelenskyy gathered all the heads of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies and announced that they had agreed to work constructively.
