The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has said that he has no intention of resigning, despite the fact that he will soon turn 60.
The Commander-in-Chief said this in an interview with the American publication The Washington Post.
Journalists asked Syrskyi whether he intends to resign. On Saturday, July 26, he will celebrate his 60th birthday. In the Ukrainian army, this age corresponds to the retirement threshold.
To this, Syrskyi said that he can do 100 push-ups without stopping. His aides emphasize that the Commander-in-Chief practically does not sleep.
According to them, Syrskyi is expected to celebrate his 60th birthday at one of the front lines.
"It depends on God and on my President," the Commander-in-Chief commented on this assumption.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 21, at a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (the Ramstein format), Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi listed to the participants of the meeting from other countries what Ukraine critically lacks for defense.
As a reminder, on July 10, Syrskyi stated that there is a shortage of junior medical personnel in the Ukrainian army. He instructed the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to find a solution to this problem.
In early July, Syrskyi called the number of military returns from the North-Eastern Front encouraging.
