The Ukrainian Defense Forces are eliminating russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups that broke into Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Region.
According to military analysts of the DeepState project and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy groups managed to enter the city a few days ago.
Currently, the Ukrainian military is actively identifying and neutralizing the saboteurs. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized that the tactics of the occupiers have not changed: they operate in small groups, trying to gain a foothold in new positions, but the Ukrainian troops are effectively countering this.
Analysts believe that the russians took advantage of problems with coordination and a lack of infantry resources in one of the Ukrainian brigades. The enemy's goal is to gain a foothold in the city and try to establish control over key areas, in particular, the street of the Defenders of Ukraine.
As of the evening of July 21, it has not yet been possible to identify all enemy groups in Pokrovsk. In addition, enemy activity was also noticed in the town of Rodynske, which is part of the Pokrovsk community.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that fighting in the Pokrovsk direction remains intense: on July 21 alone, almost a third of all russian assaults took place there. Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground in the areas of nine settlements.
