On Monday night, July 21, Poland put its air defense forces on alert and scrambled fighter jets in response to a large-scale russian air attack on Ukrainian cities.
According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, all necessary procedures to strengthen the country's airspace defense were immediately initiated "in response to aggressive actions."
Polish and allied aircraft took to the air, and air defense and radar systems were put on high alert. The last time such measures were taken in Poland was on July 19, when russia also launched a massive strike on Ukraine.
That night, russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine, using drones and missiles of various types. Explosions were heard in many regions, including Ivano-Frankivsk.
In Kyiv, one person was killed and two were injured. According to Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv, civilian infrastructure in the city was damaged and there were casualties.
Meanwhile, on the night of July 20, the aggressor state russia launched 57 drones over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense shot down 18 drones, another 7 were lost in location. 32 UAVs hit in 10 locations.
