Zelenskyy appoints former deputy head of Presidential Office Sokolovska as Ambassador to Spain

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed former deputy head of the Presidential Office Yuliia Sokolovska as Ambassador to Spain. This is stated in decree No. 532 dated July 21, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"To appoint Yuliia Serhiivna Sokolovska as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Spain," the decree reads.

By another decree No. 533 dated July 21, Zelenskyy also appointed Sokolovska as permanent representative of Ukraine to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) concurrently.

40-year-old Sokolovska held the position of deputy head of the Presidential Office from March 2020 to September 2024.

In August 2019-March 2020, she was the Minister of Social Policy.

Sokolovska graduated from the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University in 2007 and also studied at the Joint Vienna Institute. In 2016, she received a second higher education at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, majoring in Public Administration.

At the same time, Zelenskyy dismissed Serhii Pohoreltsev from the post of Ambassador to Spain, as well as from the posts of Ambassador to Andorra and permanent representative of Ukraine to the World Tourism Organization (WTO) concurrently.

Pohoreltsev had been Ambassador to Spain since July 2020.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in September 2024, Zelenskyy dismissed Yuliia Sokolovska from the post of deputy head of the Presidential Office.
