A woman who was hit by a drunk prosecutor's office employee on July 19 died in a hospital in Kyiv. Meanwhile, the perpetrator has already been charged with suspicion. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported this on Facebook.
Kravchenko recalled that the incident occurred yesterday on Velyka Vasylkivska Street in Kyiv. Then, a prosecutor's office employee Andrii Molochnyi, while intoxicated, flew out onto the sidewalk and hit the woman, trying to escape the scene.
"Unfortunately, the victim died in the hospital. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased," the Prosecutor General added.
He added that Molochnyi had already been charged with suspicion under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of traffic rules while intoxicated, which led to the death of a person. The result of the examination is 1.77 ppm.
"We will insist on the application of a preventive measure for a period of 60 days, in the form of detention without determining the amount of bail. I personally control the progress of this case, as the senior of prosecutor's group, starting with the selection of a preventive measure, and I will support the prosecution in court," Kravchenko emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Saturday, in the Holosiyivskyi district of Kyiv, an employee of the prosecutor's office ran over a woman in a pedestrian zone and fled the scene. He was later detained.
