Ukraine has achieved the first positive results in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of combating the occupiers' drones.
First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has stated this, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.
Speaking to journalists, Fedorov said that the first interceptor drones are already actively contracted.
"In general, this topic has been hacked in a positive sense by Ukraine and we already have the first results," the minister said.
He did not provide any other details regarding the interceptor drones.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on July 4, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, said that in the foreseeable future the occupiers will launch 1,000 or more drones over Ukraine every day.
The day before, on July 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine and the American company Swift Beat had agreed to cooperate in the production of UAV interceptors.
Recall, on June 24, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine would receive 100 radars to detect UAVs.
And on June 14, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, ordered an increase in the number of interceptor drones.
