Russian dictator vladimir putin will not stop his aggression against Ukraine despite pressure from the West and statements by US President Donald Trump. Reuters reported this on Tuesday, July 15, citing three informed russian sources.
According to the sources, putin wants to continue the war in order to destroy Ukraine's defenses, and then seize even more territories. The russian dictator believes that the harshest sanctions and the threat of new tariffs from Trump will not cause much damage to the economy, the publication writes.
"Russia will act based on Ukraine's weakness. Moscow might halt its offensive after conquering the four eastern regions of Ukraine if it encounters stiff resistance. But if it falls, there will be an even greater conquest of Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Kharkiv," the material says.
According to sources, putin considers his own goals much more important than any potential economic losses from Western pressure, and he is not bothered by US threats to impose tariffs on China and India for buying russian oil. If the war is not stopped, the russian dictator will try to seize as much territory in Ukraine as possible: "Appetite comes with eating," Reuters quotes russian sources.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 14, US President Donald Trump said that he was dissatisfied with the behavior of the aggressor country russia and was ready to introduce tough economic measures.
On July 14, Trump said that Ukraine would receive 17 MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems.
On July 15, Trump said that he was disappointed with vladimir putin.
