During a meeting with US President's Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the path to peace, strengthening Ukraine's air defense, joint production of drones and sanctions against russia. Zelenskyy announsed this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Meet with General Keith Kellogg, Special Envoy of the US President. We had a productive conversation. We discussed the path to peace and what we can practically do together to bring it closer. This is strengthening air defense for Ukraine, joint production, procurement of defense weapons together with Europe. And of course, sanctions against russia and those who help it. We hope for the leadership of the United States, because it is clear that Moscow will not stop if its inadequate ambitions are not stopped by force," he said.
Zelenskyy thanked Kellogg for his visit to Ukraine and US President Donald Trump for important signals of support and positive decisions for both countries.
The President's Office reported that the President confirmed Ukraine's readiness to purchase American weapons, primarily air defense systems, and the parties discussed the joint production of drones, the possibility of direct purchases of Ukrainian UAVs by the United States, and the potential purchase of weapons in cooperation with European partners.
Zelenskyy and Kellogg also talked about a ceasefire, increased pressure on russia, and joint steps for the establishment of a decent and lasting peace.
Special attention was paid to sanctions, in particular, the bipartisan bill by Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal, which has already been supported by more than 80 senators.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President's Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on Monday, July 14, for a visit.
On July 10, after meeting with Zelenskyy in Rome, Kellogg said that a ceasefire was now possible.
