Germany is negotiating with the US about the possibility of buying two Patriot systems for Ukraine, since it itself cannot give more. This was reported by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in an interview with the Financial Times.
Thus, the interview mentions that Germany had 12 Patriot systems, of which three have already been provided to Kyiv, two are in Poland, and one is constantly undergoing maintenance or is involved in training.
"We only have six left in Germany. This is really not enough, especially considering NATO's capabilities goals that we have to achieve. We definitely cannot give more," the minister said.
Pistorius said that he would discuss the offer he made to Hegseth last month to allow Germany to buy two Patriot systems from the US for Kyiv.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Politico, citing two anonymous sources, reported that Donald Trump is considering a new military aid package for Ukraine worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The aid comes a week after the Pentagon abruptly halted part of previously allocated weapons, including thousands of artillery shells and precision-guided munitions.
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina predicts that Ukraine will receive record amounts of weapons in the coming days to protect itself from russian aggression.
