Searches are being held at Shabunin

The house and place of work of the head of the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, Vitalii Shabunin, are being searched.

His colleague at the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, Daria Kaleniuk, wrote about this, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Vitalii Shabunin is indeed being searched. At his wife's house in Kyiv. And in the Chuhuiv district, where he was recently transferred. I am on the spot near Vitalii's house in Kyiv. There are armed military men here. It looks like the State Bureau of Investigation, but they are not introducing themselves," Kaleniuk wrote.

The Anti-Corruption Action Centre believes that this is a criminal case against Shabunin's former commander, Viktor Yushko, which concerns business trips to the National for Corruption Prevention.

"We consider these searches as another wave of attacks on Vitalii Shabunin and the Anti-Corruption Action Centre due to criticism by the Office of the President and Andrii Yermak personally. We believe that a few days ago Vitalii was deliberately transferred away from Kyiv/Kharkiv so that lawyers could not arrive at the search site in time. The fact that the phone was taken away indicates the SBI's desire to track all of Vitalii's contacts. As soon as we have more details, we will definitely report everything," the Anti-Corruption Action Centre said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, journalist Kateryna Kobernyk believes that Shabunin's Anti-Corruption Action Centre is engaged in media assassination of individuals and is spreading treason where there is none. The SBI is investigating a number of criminal cases against Shabunin: in particular, on evasion of mobilization, forgery of NACP documents, illegal use of humanitarian aid, and appropriation of a Nissan Pathfinder jeep.

Shabunin, who evaded military service, threatens to beat up former Deputy Defense Minister Vitalii Deineha for criticizing the lobbying activities of the Anti-Corruption Action Centre. The High Anti-Corruption Court has overturned the decision of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau detective to close the case against former deputy chairman of the NACP Artem Sytnyk and former chairman of the NACP Oleksandr Novikov due to the secondment of the AFU soldier Vitalii Shabunin from the army to the NACP.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Anatolii Barhylevych asked the SBI to punish the commander of the military unit Viktor Yushko, where anti-corruption officer Vitalii Shabunin served, for illegal secondments to the NACP.
