A large-scale initiative to counter drone attacks is being launched in the capital - the "Clear Sky" project, which involves the use of Ukrainian interceptor drones. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.
"On the instructions of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we are launching a full-fledged system for intercepting enemy drones flying towards Kyiv," the report says.
According to Tkachenko, the capital is raising funds for the implementation of the large-scale "Clear Sky" project.
UAH 260 million will be allocated for the implementation of the initiative. These funds will go not only to purchase equipment, but also to create an effective response system, in particular:
- Deployment of an operator training center - a specialized structure where specialists in controlling interceptor drones will be trained;
- Formation of additional mobile units that will be on duty in the capital and on the outskirts of the city;
Over the course of several months of the "Clear Sky" pilot project, almost 550 enemy UAVs were intercepted.
"550 intercepted Shaheds are not just statistics. These are saved lives, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, energy. In addition, we are working to attract extrabudgetary funds. This is an investment in the security of every Kyiv resident. While the enemy is attacking, we are strengthening defense. The sky over Kyiv will be clear," Tkachenko added.
Recall that earlier Zelenskyy announced an increase in the production of drones that can intercept Shaheds.
