Several Ukrainian enterprises are producing results in the production of drones capable of intercepting russian Shahed strike drones. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his evening address to the citizens on June 20.
The President reported that work is currently underway with partners to increase funding for such technologies.
"We are also working separately on interceptor drones, which should increase protection against Shaheds. Several of our domestic enterprises - and, accordingly, types of drones - are producing results. We are working with partners for more tangible funding, and I am sure that this will happen," Zelenskyy stated.
The head of state also reported that the production of interceptors is already increasing.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, CNN previously stated that it has become more difficult to fight drones of the aggressor country, as the attacks have become massive and concentrated. In addition, drones fly at higher altitudes, where machine guns cannot reach.
On June 14, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a meeting on countering enemy drones and called the first task to increase the number of UAV interceptors.
