The United States remains Ukraine's most loyal ally and will continue to provide it with assistance as long as necessary.
This was stated by the US Department of State press secretary Tammy Bruce during a briefing on July 8.
She emphasized that recent discussions on the possible suspension of arms transfers to Kyiv should not be perceived as a change in Washington's policy.
"Our country has been and remains the greatest supporter of Ukraine and we take care of these people so that they have everything they need," Bruce emphasized.
According to her, President Donald Trump spoke clearly about the "mass killings that are ongoing" and emphasized that this must be stopped by achieving a ceasefire as a result of agreements between the parties to the conflict.
She also recalled that the supply of American weapons to Ukraine has already been restored, and Trump remains resolute in supporting the defense capabilities of the Ukrainians.
"The situation is quite complicated. I repeat, we are helping them. And we will continue to help them. This is our position, and it has always been unchanged," Bruce added.
Recall, on July 2, Politico reported that the United States had allegedly temporarily suspended the supply of some types of weapons to Ukraine, in particular missiles for air defense systems and high-precision ammunition.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 4, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation. Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine's air defense with Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump said that he was "helping" Ukraine a lot.
