The UK has expanded sanctions on the aggressor country russia for its use of chemical weapons in the war against Ukraine.

The list of new restrictions was published on the British government website today, July 7.

The sanctions were imposed on the Research Institute of Applied Chemistry.

Sanctions were also imposed against the Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, Major General Alexei Rtishchev, and his deputy, Andrey Marchenko.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 4, the Dutch Ministry of Defense stated that the russian army is increasing the use of chemical weapons in the war against Ukraine.

As a reminder, at the end of June, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed the use of banned chemical weapons by the russian army for the third time since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In April of this year, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the russian occupiers were systematically using shells with poisonous substances.
