The aggressor state russia is purposefully attacking energy and gas facilities in the Sumy Region. More than half a thousand consumers in the region were left without electricity, and more than 13,000 consumers were left without gas.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, has reported this on Telegram.
"The enemy is trying to deprive people of basic living conditions – it is purposefully attacking energy and gas facilities in the Sumy Region," Hryhorov emphasized.
He informed that over a day, more than half a thousand consumers were left without electricity due to russian shelling. In the morning, power supply was restored in these settlements.
At the same time, almost 20,000 consumers in 147 settlements in the region have still lost power. It is noted that some of them are without population – we are talking about border territories, from where all residents have been evacuated.
"We also have new damage to gas facilities. In the past 24 hours, 7 more subscribers have been left without gas. In total, more than 13,000 consumers in the region are without gas supply. This is the accumulated figure for the entire time of the full-scale war," the head of the Regional Military Administration reported.
He added: "We are doing everything possible to restore electricity and gas supply to residents of the Sumy Region as soon as the security situation allows."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 3, the army of the aggressor state of russia carried out an air attack on the city of Konotop in the Sumy Region, as a result of which an infrastructure facility was destroyed.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the plan of the command of the army of the aggressor state of the russian federation to attack the Sumy Region is not being implemented. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are managing to restrain the onslaught of the invaders.
