Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and UAVs. Almost half a thousand drones shot down

On the night of July 4 (from 6 p.m. on July 3), russian troops carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine, launching 550 weapons of destruction. The main direction of the attack was the capital, Kyiv.

The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

According to their data, the enemy attacked with the following:

• 539 Shahed attack UAVs and other imitation drones from the Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions (more than 330 of them were Shaheds);
• 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile from the Lipetsk Oblast;
• 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk Oblast;
• 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles from Kursk and Voronezh Oblasts.

"The main direction of the strike is the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv," the Air Forces emphasized.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 8 a.m., 478 neutralized air targets were recorded, of which:

• 270 were shot down by fire,
• 208 were suppressed or lost by electronic warfare.

In particular, the following were destroyed:

• 268 enemy Shahed and other UAVs by fire, another 208 were suppressed by electronic warfare;
• 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

Enemy missiles and drones were also recorded hitting 8 locations (9 missiles and 63 UAVs), and debris from downed targets fell in 33 more places.

Recall that on the night of July 4, russian troops carried out a massive attack on Kyiv using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles. Fires and damage to residential buildings were recorded in six districts of the city, at least 19 people were injured. The railway infrastructure was also damaged - the movement of passenger trains is partially restricted, some flights are delayed by up to two hours.
