President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with representatives of member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, during which they discussed strategic partnership and the importance of maintaining US assistance, including military assistance.
As reported by the press service of the Office of the President, among the participants in the meeting were representatives of such companies as Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Google, Pfizer, Raytheon, Boeing, Cisco, IBM, Visa, Mastercard, McDonald's, Cargill, Honeywell and others, as well as ACC President Andy Hunder.
Zelenskyy thanked the business for its support and continued work in Ukraine, emphasizing: "This indicates stability in the country. We appreciate all the support from the United States. Reducing or slowing down assistance is not in the interests of either American or Ukrainian business - after all, Patriot systems do not choose who to protect."
Andy Hunder, in turn, stressed the importance of continuing military assistance, in particular in the field of air defense: "One of the things we always ask the American government to do is to ensure the protection of American businesses in Ukraine, in particular by supplying Patriot missiles."
He also noted that 53% of the chamber's member companies suffered damage due to shelling, and 88 have employees or relatives serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The meeting participants unanimously emphasized the need to maintain and strengthen support for Ukraine, especially in the context of air defense.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 2, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a comment to NBC News that the United States had decided to stop supplying some weapons to Ukraine.
On July 2, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that there had been no official notification from the United States about stopping or revising the schedules for supplying defense assistance to Ukraine.
