Among other things, Kallas stressed the importance of finding concrete solutions to rebalance economic relations and improve reciprocity in market access. She called on China to end its distortive practices, including restrictions on the export of rare earth metals, which pose significant risks to European companies and threaten the reliability of global supply chains.

The parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East and welcomed the de-escalation in relations between Israel and Iran. They agreed on the importance of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as a cornerstone of the global nuclear non-proliferation regime.

Regarding Taiwan, the Vice-President for Human Rights reaffirmed the EU's commitment to the "one China" policy, while expressing her opposition to any unilateral attempts to change the status quo, including through force or coercion.

Kallas expressed concern about human rights in China, as well as hybrid threats to Europe emanating from China. Both sides expressed their hope that they would soon meet again and continue to exchange views on issues of common interest.
