In the fall, Ukraine may face a critical shortage of weapons to repel russian aggression, in particular ballistic missiles and drone attacks. Bild reported this on Wednesday, July 2.
The cessation of American aid will jeopardize Ukraine's defense, while the aggressor country russia will receive significant benefits, the publication writes. The situation with the supply of missiles for Patriot air defense systems, as well as high-precision artillery, looks especially threatening.
"The cessation of weapons transfers causes two main problems: it complicates the protection of the civilian population and critical infrastructure, and also threatens the stability of the front," the material says.
At the same time, Ukraine is currently experiencing increased russian attacks against the background of the almost halting of the negotiation process between moscow and Kyiv, Bild notes. According to the AFP news agency, in June russia launched 36.8% more long-range drones than in May. According to the publication, the US government is concerned about the pace of reduction in weapons stocks due to supplies to Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 2, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a comment to NBC News that the US had decided to stop supplying some weapons to Ukraine.
On July 2, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that there had been no official notification from the US about stopping or revising the schedules for supplying defense assistance to Ukraine.
