Term of basic general training of military personnel will be increased to 51 days - Syrskyi

The term of basic general training will be increased from 49 to 51 days to train military personnel to counter enemy strike drones.

This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The term of basic general training will be increased to 51 days (compared to 49 days currently). Two days will be added to train military personnel to counter enemy strike UAVs. This is one of the innovations of the sixth edition of the basic general training program, work on which is being completed," he said.

Syrskyi noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to develop and improve basic training in the rear areas of brigades and strengthen the psychological training of military personnel.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, since May, the Armed Forces of Ukraine has updated the basic general military training program, in particular, the training period for former "limitedly fit" personnel, who, according to changes in legislation, must serve exclusively in rear units according to the decision of the military medical commission, has been reduced to one month (instead of 45 days).
