US President's Special Envoy to Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg called the high-profile statements by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov "Orwellian" and called for an immediate ceasefire and transition to trilateral talks.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
"Peskov's recent comments on the state of negotiations are Orwellian (writer George Orwell is world-famous for his political works, in particular the dystopia depicting a totalitarian society "1984" - ed.). Russian claims that it is the US and Ukraine stalling peace talks are unfounded," he said.
Kellogg stressed that Trump has been consistent and unwavering in achieving progress to end the war.
"We urge an immediate ceasefire and a move to trilateral talks to end the war. Russia cannot continue to stall for time while it bombs civilian targets in Ukraine," he stressed.

Kellogg referred to an article by the Ukrainian English-language media outlet The Kyiv Independent with Peskov's statements, in which he shifted responsibility for the pace of the negotiations to "Ukraine's position," as well as the effectiveness of American mediation and developments on the battlefield.
At the same time, russia has repeatedly refused the ceasefire agreement proposed by the United States, intensified shelling of Ukrainian civilians, and russian leader vladimir putin declared earlier this month that "all of Ukraine is ours."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Czech President Petr Pavel said that last week at a closed NATO dinner, European leaders urged US President Donald Trump to increase pressure on russia.
Meanwhile, Trump wrote a letter on the anniversary of the death of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, declaring his commitment to restoring peace throughout the world.
On the same day, June 29, Senator Lindsey Graham announced that Trump was preparing a 500% tariff for countries that cooperate with russia and do not support Ukraine.
