Ukroboronprom and Norwegian KDA agree on integration of Ukrainian air defense systems with NASAMS

Joint-stock company Ukrainian Defense Industry (Ukroboronprom) and Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) have agreed on the integration of Ukrainian air defense systems with NASAMS systems. Ukroboronprom announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Ukroboronprom and Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) have agreed on cooperation in the field of strengthening the potential of Ukrainian air defense. This is a partnership to integrate existing and promising domestic short- and medium-range air defense systems into the NASAMS infrastructure. In particular, it is envisaged that Ukrainian developments will work together with Norwegian command and control modules," the report says.

Earlier, KDA representatives held preliminary negotiations with Ukrainian colleagues and studied their production and scientific and technical capabilities.

"The development and scaling of our air and missile defense systems is one of the undisputed priorities of Ukroboronprom. Together with Norwegian gunsmiths, we will take a new step towards creating a strong air shield that should reliably cover strategic objects and civilian infrastructure. I am confident that cooperation with KDA will become another example of a fruitful international partnership," said Oleh Huliak, Director General of Ukroboronprom.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, the Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine and the Norwegian defense company Kongsberg plan to integrate Ukrainian air defense systems into the NASAMS system.
