Ukraine has "dozens of technological solutions and products" to combat russian strike drones. They are already used in combat conditions. At the same time, the aggressor country russia is carrying out combined strikes to exhaust Ukrainian air defense.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated this during a closed meeting with journalists, the Suspilne publication writes.
The Head of the Defense Ministry said that Ukraine is systematically working on finding solutions to create an effective model for countering russian-Iranian strike drones of the Shahed type. He emphasized that this is a constant intellectual struggle, because the russians regularly change algorithms, and Ukraine adapts its tactics in response.
"To date, dozens of technological solutions have been found, dozens of products that are already used in combat conditions," Umerov said.
He added that solutions that were highly effective at the beginning of the war lost their effectiveness over time as the russians changed tactics. For example, mobile fire groups were useful for a certain period, but now their effectiveness is starting to decline.
The minister said that Ukraine is introducing new developments - "drone interceptors", as well as other tools that are currently being deliberately kept secret. According to Umerov, all work on anti-drone systems is a "continuous cycle of innovation and improvement".
He added that russia is using combined strikes to exhaust Ukrainian air defense.
"Now the enemy has increased combined strikes. They are using up to 500 Shaheds per night and combining them with ballistic and cruise missiles - in order to exhaust our air defense, calculate our echelon, for psychological pressure," the minister said.
Despite this, according to him, Ukraine is finding solutions and adapting its defense.
"And the "anti-Shahed" solution already exists - one of these products showed very high efficiency, we didn't even expect it ourselves," the minister noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Associated Press, the aggressor country russia is launching improved "white" Shahed-136 strike drones over Ukraine, which now have cameras, radio control modules and artificial intelligence elements.
