North Korea may send additional troops to russia to participate in the war against Ukraine in July or August, and Pyongyang continues to supply weapons to russia.
This was reported by South Korean lawmakers, citing a briefing by the intelligence agency, Reuters reports.
Thus, a member of the South Korean parliament, Lee Sung Kyung, said that the National Intelligence Service of South Korea (NIS) believes that russia may be ready for a large-scale attack on Ukraine in July or August.
"The timing of the additional deployment is that it could happen as early as July or August," Lee said, adding that the agency cited a new troop buildup by North Korea and a recent visit to Pyongyang by a senior russian presidential security official as the basis for such an assessment.
It is also noted that in exchange for North Korea sending artillery ammunition and missiles to russia, Pyongyang is likely to receive technical advice on launching satellites and missile guidance systems.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, during the night attack on June 23, the russian army used ballistic missiles from North Korea against Ukraine.
Meanwhile, last week, the Secretary of the Security Council of the aggressor state, the russian federation, Sergei Shoigu, held talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for the second time in two weeks and stated that he was carrying out "special instructions" from president vladimir putin.
