Donald Trump said that the United States will "see" whether it can supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, because America also needs them. He stated this in a conversation with journalists at a briefing following the NATO summit in The Hague.
Thus, Trump said that he would like to be able to transfer missile defense systems to Ukraine and did not rule out such a possibility.
"We're going to see if we can make some available. They are very hard to get. We need them too. We were supplying them to Israel. They are 100% effective. Hard to believe how effective," said Donald Trump.
He also said whether the United States would be able to help Ukraine in the war financially.
"As far as money going, we'll see what happens. There's a lot of spirit. Look, vladimir putin really has to end that war. People are dying at levels that people haven't seen before for a long time," said the American president.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his meeting with US President Donald Trump in The Hague on the sidelines of the NATO summit was meaningful, and they talked about how to achieve a ceasefire and real peace.
US President Donald Trump called his promise to end the war in Ukraine and reach a peace agreement in 24 hours "sarcastic."
