Zelenskyy on meeting with Trump: talked about how to achieve ceasefire and real peace

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his meeting with US President Donald Trump in The Hague on the sidelines of the NATO summit was meaningful, they talked about how to achieve a ceasefire and real peace. Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"A long and meaningful meeting with President Trump. We covered all the really important issues. I thank Mr. President, thank the United States. We talked about how to achieve a ceasefire and real peace. We talked about how to protect our people. We appreciate the attention and willingness to help bring peace closer," he said.

Zelenskyy promised to provide details of the meeting later.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy and Trump began a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague on Wednesday, June 25, at around 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time, the meeting lasted about 45 minutes.

Zelenskyy last met with Trump in April at the Vatican at the funeral of Pope Francis. Their planned meeting at the G7 summit in Canada did not take place due to Trump's early departure amid tensions in the Middle East.
