Activity of occupiers in Sumy Region decreases, russia involving only manpower in assaults – State Border Guard Service

The activity of the russian occupiers in the Sumy direction has decreased, although the russian military continues to send assault groups to the territory of Ukraine.

The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andrii Demchenko has reported this on the air of Hromadske radio.

It is also reported that the occupiers continue to use their tactics of attempting to enter with small assault groups.

"If we talk in general about the Sumy direction, about the border with Russia within the Sumy Region, I can talk about the situation in those areas and defense strips where the units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are located. I will note that the length of the border within this region is about 550 kilometers. And in fact, on a small section within the Sumy Region, the enemy continues to use its tactics of attempting to enter with small assault groups. But recently, I see that in those directions where our units are located, the enemy's activity has decreased somewhat, although he continues to try to advance infantry groups into our territory," Demchenko says.

It is also reported that the russians do not use armored vehicles in this direction, the occupiers are using only manpower.

"They are using it as "live meat" that goes to our territory. But all the actions that the Defense Forces, including the border guards, carried out, causing losses to manpower, most likely also led to the fact that it is now more difficult for the enemy to continue to use this tactic, sending these small infantry groups to our territory. And to destroy the enemy, our soldiers are using both artillery and drones in order to inflict maximum damage on these infantry groups," the spokesman said.

It is also reported that other technical means have also begun to be used by the russians less often than before.

"Quite often they used motorcycles, quadricycles, to rush deep into the territory of Ukraine at speed. We also notice that the enemy has also begun to use these technical means less, given the losses that he suffered due to the actions of the Ukrainian defenders," Demchenko said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the border area of the Sumy Region, due to constant attacks by russian drones, anti-drone nets are being installed above the roads, which will protect logistics and citizens from enemy attacks.
