Iran's parliament approves closure of Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian parliament has approved a decision to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which a number of Middle Eastern countries export oil.

The Iranian Press TV channel reported this on Sunday, June 22.

Member of the parliamentary commission on national security and foreign policy Esmaeil Kousari said that the parliament has concluded that the Strait of Hormuz should be closed.

According to him, the final decision on this issue remains with the Supreme National Security Council.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, today, June 22, the Yemeni Houthis announced their entry into the conflict between Iran and Israel. They threatened to attack ships and vessels in the Red Sea.

Recall, on June 22, US President Donald Trump said that the American military had carried out a series of strikes on Iranian nuclear program facilities.

According to media reports, the Americans used bunker-busting bombs and Tomahawk missiles to strike facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.

Earlier, it became known that the Trump administration expects Iran to retaliate against American troops in the Middle East in the next 48 hours.
