KPI buildings damaged during russian attack

During the attack by the aggressor country russia on the night of June 17, the buildings of the National Technical University "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" were damaged. This is stated in the KPI's message on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"On the night of June 17, 2025, Kyiv was subjected to another massive combined raid by enemy drones, cruise missiles and ballistics, as a result of which there are many injured and, unfortunately, dead. During the attack, the buildings and structures of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were damaged, in particular, in the historical building of the educational building No. 4, the laying of the foundations of which on June 1, 1898 initiated the construction of the university," the message says.

KPI asks students and teachers to stay in the shelters of educational buildings and dormitories during air raids.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, as a result of the night air attack on Kyiv on the night of June 17, 114 people were injured, 68 of them were hospitalized, the identities of four deceased have been established, and the identities of more than 10 more deceased are being established, in addition, there are missing persons as a result of a missile hitting a house in the Solomianskyi district.

As a result of the air attack on Kyiv, one of the dormitories of the Kyiv Aviation Institute (formerly the National Aviation University) was damaged.
