1,200 bodies, which, according to the russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen, have been returned to Ukraine. It was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War on Friday, June 13.
The return of the bodies of the fallen took place in accordance with the agreements in Istanbul.
"As a result of the repatriation measures carried out, the bodies of 1,200 of the fallen were returned to Ukraine. According to the Russian side, the bodies belong to citizens of Ukraine, in particular servicemen," the report says.

At the same time, investigators of law enforcement agencies and expert institutions of the Ministry of Interior Affairs will conduct all necessary examinations and identification of the repatriated bodies, the Coordination Headquarters emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 7, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War responded that the statements of the russian side do not correspond to reality and previous agreements.
On June 9, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Ukraine continues to work on the return of 6,000 bodies of fallen defenders within the framework of agreements with the aggressor country, the russian federation.
