On June 12, a group of seriously wounded and seriously ill soldiers were released from кussian captivity, some of them were considered missing. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
"Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular the Assault Troops, the Navy, the Air Force, the Territorial Defense Forces, Unmanned Systems Forces, the Ukrainian Border Guard Service, as well as the the National Guard of Ukraine, have returned to their homeland," the report says.
Among the released are also defenders of Mariupol, who had been in captivity for more than three years. All of the released are men, representatives of privates and non-commissioned officers. They fought in the Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk Axes.
"The defenders released from captivity will undergo the necessary medical examination, receive assistance in physical and psychological rehabilitation, as well as all due payments for the entire time they were in captivity," the headquarters said.
Today's exchange is part of a large exchange in the categories of servicemen under 25 years of age, as well as the seriously wounded and seriously ill.
In addition, the next stage of the release of Ukrainian defenders will be carried out in the near future.
As a reminder, on June 2, Ukraine and the aggressor country of russia agreed to exchange all seriously wounded prisoners of war, as well as all young soldiers aged 18-25.
