President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not lower the mobilization age to recruit 18-year-olds into the army, as Ukraine's Western partners want.
The advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak has stated this, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.
Podoliak called the conditions from the West regarding the lowering of the mobilization age strange, since this issue is in no way related to sanctions against the aggressor country russia.
According to him, Zelenskyy will not implement the lowering of the mobilization age and call up 18-year-olds to war.
"The President categorically insists on the impossibility of implementing such a scenario, that is, reducing the significant mobilization period to 18 years. The President will definitely not implement this," Podoliak emphasized.
The advisor to the head of the Office of the President noted that it is impossible to fight against russia solely with the help of mobilization tools.
Winning the war against russia requires creativity, says Podoliak. He added that Ukraine is clearly proving this.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 10, the Hungarian publication Valasz published an interview with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which he said that the West does not want to tighten sanctions against russia because of Ukraine's reluctance to begin mobilizing 18-year-olds.
