Advisor to russian president vladimir putin and head of the russian negotiating delegation in Istanbul Vladimir Medinsky said that Ukraine and russia were destined to be close allies. He reported this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
Thus, he said that Western countries are mistaken when they consider russia's war with Ukraine as a war between two different countries with different cultures and histories, because in his understanding "this is a war of two states with one language and culture."
"This is like a conflict between two brothers—one older and one younger—about who is smarter and more important. This conflict sadly deepens our differences, and that’s why we want it to end as soon as possible," putin's aide noted.
Medinsky also stated that it is impossible to wage long wars with russia and mentioned russia's 21-year war with Sweden in the 18th century as proof that the country wins in protracted battles.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the United States of America is discussing with the aggressor country russia the exclusion of the aide to the russian dictator, Vladimir Medinsky, from the negotiating team on Ukraine.
Also, the aide to the russian dictator, Vladimir Medinsky, stated at the negotiating table with the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul: "Perhaps some of those who are sitting here, at this table, are losing more of their loved ones. Russia is ready to fight forever."
