The head of the russian delegation, an aide to the russian dictator Vladimir Medinsky has stated this. His words are quoted by The Economist correspondent Oliver Carroll on Friday, May 16.
Carroll quoted Medinsky's words, which he said at the negotiating table with the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul: "Maybe some of those sitting here at this table will lose more of their loved ones. Russia is prepared to fight forever."
In addition, according to the correspondent, the head of the russian delegation threatened that the russian federation is ready to fight as long as it needs.
"We don’t want war, but we’re ready to fight for a year, two, three—however long it takes. We fought Sweden for 21 years. How long are you ready to fight?" said Medinsky.
