Ukraine confident that US will continue to supply weapons after end of transfer promised by Biden

Ukraine is confident that the United States of America will continue to supply weapons to the Ukrainian army after the end of the aid deliveries promised by the former US President.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

During the briefing, journalists asked Tykhyi how long the deliveries of American weapons, which were approved by the administration of former President Joseph Biden, would continue.

The spokesman for the foreign ministry replied that questions about specific terms should be addressed to the military, since they are aware of the status of weapons deliveries.

At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine is conducting an active dialogue with the US so that American weapons continue to enter the armament of the Ukrainian army.

"Ukraine is ready to purchase American weapons, in particular air defense, Patriot and other means that we have been receiving from the US all these years," Tykhyi said.

He added that Ukraine can purchase American weapons using various sources of financing. In particular, for this purpose, the agreement on minerals can be used. It stipulates the possibility of compensation with weapons.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of April this year, the American publication The Wall Street Journal wrote that Ukrainian government officials fear that the United States will stop supplying military aid due to the current nature of negotiations with russia.

Recall that in early March, the United States stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine. This happened after a public quarrel between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump.

However, on March 12, it became known that the United States had resumed the transfer of weapons and equipment.
