The Ukrainian leadership fears that US President Donald Trump may again accuse Kyiv of allegedly disrupting the negotiation process and stop the supply of military aid to the Ukrainian army.
The American publication The Wall Street Journal reported this with reference to its own sources.
According to unnamed Ukrainian officials, Kyiv is alarmed by a possible halt in the supply of weapons by the US. They believe that the head of the White House may accuse Ukraine of disrupting the negotiations because it does not want to make territorial concessions to the aggressor country of russia.
The publication writes that Ukrainian officials, during their communication with their US colleagues, recalled that Ukraine had previously agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, but russia did not respond to this initiative.
Recall that during the discussion of the possibility of establishing a 30-day truce, the russian dictator demanded that Ukraine stop receiving Western military aid and stop mobilization.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March 2025, the US presidential administration suspended all military aid to Ukraine. This happened after a public quarrel between Trump and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The US also stopped funding new arms sales to the Ukrainian army. In addition, American intelligence stopped sharing information with its Ukrainian colleagues.
As stated on March 4 by Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, without US military aid, Ukraine's reserve of strength will last for about six months.
