The restoration of the modern building of the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt (Kyiv), which was damaged by a russian missile attack in July 2024, has begun.
This was announced by the Ministry of Health, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The Ministry of Health reports that, following the results of the procurement procedure conducted in the Prozorro system, a contract was signed for the overhaul of the modern medical and diagnostic building of the Okhmatdyt.
The winner of the tender was Riola-Modul LTD LLC, which submitted the most economically advantageous offer - almost UAH 293 million, while the expected cost of the purchase was UAH 367.4 million, so, as the Ministry of Health notes, such an offer will save more than UAH 70 million, which can be directed to other areas of hospital restoration.
The Ministry notes that the contractor has experience in the construction and reconstruction of medical facilities, it was Riola-Modul LTD that completed the construction of the modern building of Okhmatdyt in 2020.
A contract for about UAH 2 million was also signed with the winner of the tender for technical supervision - the Engineering Company Akadem Bud.
Financing of restoration and technical supervision works will be carried out at the expense of the Charitable Foundation Okhmatdyt — Healthy Childhood, which accumulated a significant part of the donations of Ukrainians in 2024.
The author's supervision will be provided by the Engineering Company Arkon, which developed the design documentation before the overhaul, the amount of the contract is sub-threshold, is UAH 1.5 million, the payer under this contract is also the charitable foundation Okhmatdyt — Healthy Childhood.
The Ministry of Health reports that the contracting organization has begun additional inspections and is conducting the necessary measurements at the facility.
The project involves a comprehensive restoration of the modern building, including:
building structures, roof, facade, windows and doors;
interior decoration of premises and engineering networks (heating, ventilation, water supply, electricity, low-voltage systems);
medical gas systems, fire alarm, video communication and lighting;
landscaping of the territory and road surface.
The Ministry emphasizes that the functional purpose of the premises does not change, during the works, medical care will continue to be provided continuously - the building remains functional.
It is noted that more than 500 children are treated in Okhmatdyt every day, doctors perform more than 40 operations.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the government had redistributed about UAH 6.3 million for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt, the funds will be directed to carrying out urgent emergency and conservation work in the two buildings of the hospital.
Shmyhal stressed that the restoration of this children's hospital is a priority for this year.
In July 2024, the children's hospital Okhmatdyt in Kyiv was damaged by russian shelling, one building of the hospital was completely destroyed, four were significantly damaged.
At that time, Shmyhal stated that the state would completely rebuild Okhmatdyt.
