The second day of protests against immigration policy continues in the American city of Los Angeles. The administration of US President Donald Trump is deploying 2,000 National Guard soldiers. This was reported by Reuters on Sunday, June 8.
According to the census, a significant part of the population of Los Angeles is Latino and foreign, who are protesting against Trump, who has made the repression of immigration a leading theme of his pre-election campaign.

"The Trump administration said it would deploy 2,000 National Guard troops on Saturday as federal agents in Los Angeles clashed with several hundred demonstrators during a second day of protests following immigration raids," the report said.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned that the Pentagon was prepared to mobilize active-duty troops "if the violence in Los Angeles continues." Marines at Camp Pendleton are "on high alert," he said. At the same time, Trump signed a presidential memorandum on the deployment of National Guard troops to "combat the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester," the White House said in a statement, Reuters reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, on his first day in office, Trump instructed US government agencies to no longer issue citizenship documents to children born in the United States to parents who do not have legal status.
