Ukraine may start turning off mobile communications during russian shelling

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence discussed the issue of turning off mobile communications in the territories where drones of the aggressor country of russia have flown. This is stated in the Committee's message on Facebook.

MPs, representatives of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, intelligence agencies, and mobile operators took part in the discussion of how hostile drones can use the infrastructure of mobile operators. In particular, the pros and cons of mandatory identification of all (new and existing) mobile subscribers.

"Temporary (for the period of air alert) shutdown of mobile communications in certain territories where hostile UAVs fly in. Other proposals for combating russian UAVs that use SIM cards," the message says.

The participants of the meeting outlined certain practical steps to resolve the problem with russian UAVs and mobile communications, but due to the sensitivity of the issue, they did not disclose details.
