A World Bank mission on economic policy and poverty began in Kyiv on June 2, during which a new USD 1 billion deal is being prepared.
This is announced in a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
During the week, from June 2 to 6, a team of World Bank experts, together with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Ukraine, are working to agree on the key parameters of a new agreement on the “Development Policy Operation (DPO) Loan”.
The agreement provides for the attraction of a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in the amount of at least USD 1 billion in 2025.
The funds provided for by the project will be credited to the general fund of the state budget based on the results of the fulfilled conditions.
Ukraine is expected to receive at least USD 1 billion under the project by the end of 2025.
The parties agreed to continue the necessary work to implement the DPO program.
The next steps include the finalization of the conditions by the end of June, their fulfillment by Ukraine by the end of October, and approval of financing by the World Bank Board of Directors in November.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine will receive USD 432 million from the World Bank to restore transport infrastructure.
