Invaders begin to use modernized KABs. Now they are able to fly 10-15 kilometers further

The aviation of the army of the aggressor country russia has become more active in using aerial bombs equipped with modernized planning and correction modules (UMPK). The new version of the module allows the bomb to cover a distance of up to 95 kilometers.

The Defense Express portal reported this on Tuesday, June 3.

According to the portal, the flight range of russian aerial bombs used to be from 60 to 80 kilometers.

The day before, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on strikes with such aerial bombs on the Kharkiv and Sumy Regions. The prosecutor's office believes that the invaders are currently testing new UMPKs. It is possible that the range of the bombs may increase.

Defense Express writes that the russians first reported on work on the UMPK-PD (Extended Range) in September 2024.

The new modules allow the russians to deliver longer-range strikes, as the range of application has increased by 15-35 kilometers.

In addition, the increased range will allow the occupiers to launch aerial bombs from more distant rears, which reduces the risks for aircraft.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of May it became known that the russians had modernized the Shahed strike drones, equipping them with more powerful warheads.

And shortly before that, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the occupiers had improved their ballistic missiles, which made it more difficult for Ukrainian air defense systems to intercept them.
