Russians improve Shaheds, equipping them with 2 new warheads. What is known about them?

The russian occupiers have modified the Shahed type strike UAVs, with which the aggressor country attacks Ukraine every day. The drones have received two new warheads, the mass of which has been almost doubled.

The Defense Express portal reported this with reference to its own sources.

According to the portal, the modified Shaheds have been equipped with two new warheads. One of them is manufactured in the russian federation, the other is supplied to the russian military from Iran.

The russian one has received the index КОФЗБЧ (cumulative-fragmentation-high-explosive-incendiary warhead). It is similar to the previous version of the warhead, but differs in the presence of a cumulative effect. In addition, the mass of the warhead has been increased from 50 to 90 kilograms.

The warhead manufactured in Iran also weighs 90 kilograms. It differs from the russian counterpart in the absence of incendiary elements.

For example, in 2024, strike drones began to be equipped with a 50-kilogram warhead with a thermobaric and fragmentation effect.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early May, the occupiers attacked Kharkiv with a russian drone of the Molniya type. In order to hit as many people as possible, a bag of nails was attached to it.

We also wrote that in April of this year, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked the only enterprise in the russian federation that produces fiber optics for UAVs.

As a reminder, in February, russian troops began using a new UAV to strike at populated areas in Ukraine. The police showed what it looks like.
