On the night of May 30, starting at 11:50 p.m. on May 29, russian troops carried out a massive air attack on the territory of Ukraine, using Shahed-type strike drones, drone simulators and ballistic missiles.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
“On the night of May 30 (from 11:50 p.m. on May 29), the enemy attacked with 90 Shahed-type strike UAVs and drone simulators of various types from the directions: Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - russia, and also struck with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh Oblast - russia,” the official summary says.
The main directions of the air strike were the Kharkiv, Odesa and Donetsk Regions.
To repel the attack, aviation forces, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved.
As of 8:00 a.m., 56 enemy drones were destroyed. “26 were shot down by fire weapons, 30 were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare,” the Air Forces noted.
As a result of the attack, air attack weapons were recorded in 12 settlements. Information about the destruction and casualties is being clarified.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 28, the russians launched 5 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, a Kh-59/69 guided missile, and 88 drones over Ukraine.
Air defense forces shot down 34 UAVs, and another 37 drones were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare (EW) systems.
